This blog is named after a book by Jacqueline Jones Royster. While my goals for this blog are not quite as lofty as Ms. Royster's (promoting literacy and social change) I do intend to address ideas, philosophies, and policies that need to change. Since I consider myself a sociologist I will focus on anything social, which basically covers everything under the sun and then some. Topics will include my take on politics, music, sports, family issues, literature, to name a few.

I think they snatched your video but I'm assuming it was Anyone Who Had A Heart. Great choice.
And I did post Michel'le. You just overlooked it. But I'm moving it up though.
Thanks for stopping by and Happy OSF!
That is one beautiful song! Much obliged for that memory and for stopping by.
Happy OSF!
I don't understand what happened Vivrant, my songs are playing fine, the video player is intact.
Luther, Luther, Luther...nice choice.
Happy OSF.
Happy OSF! :)
I never heard the Dionne version. I thought that Luther was the only one or the first one.
Luther is always a good choice.
Have a good weekend.
Great choices PJazzy! Everyone must have gotten up early this week or else I am late. I love the Luther, the Dionne, AND the Dusty S. choices. Happy OSF>
Pjazzy - good one! I really do remember both the Dionne and Dusty versions and I think Dusty was my fav. I never knew Luther Vandross did a version!
I went with nostalgia, as usual, found 3 but I think the last one might surprise you.
Happy OSF
One of my favorites by Luther & Dionne! They both brought something different to it!
I'm glad I found your blog. I love Anyone Who Had a Heart by Dionee and Luther. I have both of those songs on CD by each singer.
My favorite Dusty Springfield song is "I only wanna be with you" Remember that?
I'd love to chat with you since we have some things in common plus I'd like to share something with you.
The funny thing is...I can't listen to anyone else, whether they have sang the song before or after, sing a song once Luther sings it...it just doesn't sound right to me...
We share this choice this week...great minds!
Wow, haven't heard the Dazz Band in a hot minute. Thanks for digging that out!
I am glad you decided to add your second selection. I don't think I ever heard that before. I like it!
Love it!
I will e-mail you shortly with a reply to your question the other day on my blog...give me a sec!
Great to "see" you!
