This blog is named after a book by Jacqueline Jones Royster. While my goals for this blog are not quite as lofty as Ms. Royster's (promoting literacy and social change) I do intend to address ideas, philosophies, and policies that need to change. Since I consider myself a sociologist I will focus on anything social, which basically covers everything under the sun and then some. Topics will include my take on politics, music, sports, family issues, literature, to name a few.

What a great surprise to see one of your faves in concert. I feel ashamed that I don't know more by Ms. Adams besides "Get Here".
Dang PJ., I need your kind of friends . . . the kind who come baring gifts rather than begging for stuff (smile). Also, it's great to know Ms. Adams is still doing her thing.
Malcolm, A good place to start would be "The Best Of Oleta Adams". You can get it new for 12.99. It's well worth it.
Lori, My buddy is worth his weight in gold. Oleta was in great form. I guess she has been doing some inspirational music too.
Well, nice to hear about welcome surprises. I hope you enjoyed the concert.
x.dell, I had a wonderful time. Unwelcome surprises suck big time.
