This blog is named after a book by Jacqueline Jones Royster. While my goals for this blog are not quite as lofty as Ms. Royster's (promoting literacy and social change) I do intend to address ideas, philosophies, and policies that need to change. Since I consider myself a sociologist I will focus on anything social, which basically covers everything under the sun and then some. Topics will include my take on politics, music, sports, family issues, literature, to name a few.

Wow I haven't heard those in forever!
I never thought much about the theme to "The Hogan Family". Maybe because I haven't seen the show in awhile. However, I listened to it on You Tube and really liked it.
Nice list - we went in completely different directions.
Moonlighting is a great theme good call.
Oh, that Moonlighting theme was excellent! (And I hated when Dave and Maddie got together; it ruined it!)
Ah Moonlighting! Yes! Ja'net DuBois (Willona) didn't sing the Good Times theme did she? I know she sang the Jeffersons theme, wrote that too.
Did you know that much of the music score from China Beach was written by actor John Rubenstein, son of concert pianist Arthur B. Rubinstein? He wrote the closing theme which is some of the most beautiful music I've ever heard.
You might remember him from the TV Show Family in which he played Jeff Maitland, the husband/ex-husband of Nancy Lawrence(Meredith Baxter).
More information that you wanted,lol???
I did love the theme from Moonlighting.
I would have to add Hawaii5-0, Dr. Kildaire, Brooklyn Bridge, Joah of Arcadia, The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, Sledge Hammer, The Theme from The Torkelsons, Secret Agent Man, Route 66 and last but not least Peter Gunn!
If we could include mini series? Lonesome Dove and Thornbirds!
I should have joined this meme just for this week!!!
You know, I never thought about it, so I looked it up. Detta Little and Nelson Pigford sang the theme from Good Times.
It's only fitting that if you list Roberta Flack that you list Donnie Hathaway.
I don't even remember the Hogan Family and I know I should.
i also like the theme for 'diff'rent strokes'. i actually listened to the lyrics of that theme and they are pretty cool. 'good times' is my all-time favorite show, so you know i love the theme song-i know it word for word :-)

Excellent idea for a meme, as usual. And I liked traveling down memory lane, forgot about some of these shows. I used to get so excitied at some of these theme songs when the episodes would start. It's made me try to think about what theme songs for tv shows I like now might be...
Where are you Ms. Pjazzy? I've missed your posts this week for TT and OSF!!! Are you okay?
