I had to go with one of my all time favorite girl groups, Martha Reeves and the Vandallas. They were considered stepchildren at Motown in comparison to the Supremes, but there is nothing like the groups distinct sound.

Martha Reeves ROCKED. i loved the Supremes, but they were all smooth and slick - Martha Reeves had REAL soul...
Swwweeeettt!
Awesome pick!
Have a great weekend!
Nice pick, the classic girl group.
I so agree with you - Barry's all out push for the Supremes pushed many of the other great girl groups to the background - but it might have been the very reason their music has stayed so real and dear to our hearts!
I went with the oldies but goodies myself - nothing like the "real" thing!
Have a great weekend Pjazzy!!
You and I have had many talks about Berry overlooking Martha and the Vandellas and The Marvelettes in favor of The Supremes. The music of Martha and the Vandellas definitely had more soul than that of The Supremes.
I just noticed the "All Comments Welcome!" message right above the box. Is that something new you added?
for the longest time i thought 'the supremes' sang this song...i love it! didn't they sing "jimmy mack" too...i love that song as well. either way, great picks!

This song just makes me want to sing out loud and dance! What a great choice!
Wonderful.
Did you watch "Fashion ocks" last week? They did a great job of showing fashion and then emulating music styles with contemporary singers. I loved the motown section. I am a big fan of Chris Brown is is sometimes compared to Motown sound.
Love the video thanks!
Editor, The Vandellas were the best!
Regina, Thank you
Clnmike, Thank you
Pop Art Diva, There is something about the 60's girl groups. They don't make em like that anymore.
Malcolm, I could have went with the Marvelettes or the Velvelettes for that matter. All very neglected. I added the "All Comments Welcome" a couple of weeks ago.
Marcus, Martha Reeves and the Vandallas sang Jimmy Mack, Dancing in the Streets, and many more. The group was different because Motown employed Martha and she hired and paid Vandallas out of her pocket.
Ms. Marvalus, I know, it's just a fun song.
Candy Minx, I missed Fashion Rocks, but I love Chris Brown too!
I missed this last week, this is great music. It just makes me feel good...
