What is Disco? K. C. of the Sunshine era stated that "Disco is just R&B". I agree with that sentiment. Barry White said that "Disco music makes everybody beautiful" and Isaac Hayes commented (and I quote) "Black people dance on the 2 and the 4 (beat) and White people dance on the 1 and the 3, Disco music has all four beat, so everybody can dance together". Sometimes I don't go with the obvious choice but this week I must. Donna Summer is the undeniable queen of the genre and the most successful star of the Disco era.

Donna is THE Queen of disco...happy OSF!
Donna summers really is the queen of disco, good pick.
Love, love, love Donna Summer. I still have the "Hot Stuff" and "Bad Girls" 45s. How old school am I? LOL!
Since I was not happy with the seventies (way too much chest hair and cheap Travolta wannabees!) I was not a big fan of disco - but I did have one favorite song. . . .
So this week I decided to have a little fun at the expense of Funky Town and post Disco (sucks?)
Happy OSF!
Donna Summer's just plain fun to listen too. She could make even '80s music sound good.
Donna Summer is hot, but worthy so. I like her because she brought a sense of soul to the style. She really has a voice to be reckon with, even though the beats gets in way...
Donna Summers had disco on lock. Nice selection.
I am really enjoying this song this morning...
Good pick!

Oh this takes me back to a club called "Deja Vu" in Newport Beach. We'd close the place down and of course the last song played every time was by Donna, "Last Dance".
I'd love to be able to dance in high heels like I did back then!
I loved the quotes about disco! They were so apt. They really needed to be brought back out in the open. I feel like dancing now...
People laugh at me, but I LOVE disco! How can anyone not want to get up and dance to that?
