Old School Fridays - Motown

Motown artist, the Late Great, Rick James, makes his final performance on the BET Awards in 2004 with Teena Marie, just days before he passed away. Let him and Teena hit you with some "Fire and Desire" and don't forget he's Rick James B.....! You better act like you know!

I am posting early because I will be indisposed tomorrow. Thanks to Mrs. Grapevine for sharing this week's theme early. This meme was developed by
Marvalus View and Ms. Grapevine. The rules are simple:

1. Anyone can participate; any music genre

2. Old School is defined as music created before 1999

3. No offensive words allowed, please use edited radio version

4. Post a video of your favorite Old School song to take us back down memory lane

5. Add your name to the meme list so that others can check you out

6. Have fun & don't forget to leave comments for other participants

If you want to join in on the fun, click here.

I am also but I figured I would do something different. I imagine most people will be posting Temptations and Supremes. Have a wonderful weekend.

Rick James was B-A-D and I do mean good. I love Rick's music. I'm sure no one will forget Rick James' "performances" (I mean both times he had the mic) at the BET awards - LOL.

Great choice. Have a great weekend.

Just posted my Old School Friday - how would you like a little Dusty Springfield with your Martha and the Vandellas???

I resisted the Temptation to post a Supreme blog about Motown, lol!

Discovering so many new OSFers this morning.

Great Choice.

I was surprised that one who has had my ear this week is on Motown.

Traveling down the road of lives.

Wishing you well.

Although the man scares me something seriously, he does make some good music. Ebony Eyes is one of my favs, too because I like the sensitive side of him...

This BET Awards was a classic, and that's why I have to watch them all, because I don't want to miss any of these types of moments...

I didn't realize that this Rick/Teena duet was so close to his death. That's one of the things I like about the BET Awards: the ability to see performances that the Grammys, AMAs, etc. would never show.

Marcus is right. He did put out a lot of great records. Unfortunately, however, I really can no longer think of Rick James without also thinking of Dave Chapelle:-)

When I originally commented I clicked the "Notify me when new comments are added" checkbox and now each time a comment is added I get four e-mails with the same comment.
Is there any way you can remove me from that service?

Cheers!

I leave a response when I appreciate a post on a site or if I have something to valuable to contribute to the conversation.
Usually it's a result of the passion displayed in the post I read. And after this post "Old School Fridays - Motown". I was excited enough to post a leave a responsea response ;) I do have a couple of questions for you if it's allright.

Could it be only me or do some of the comments look like they
are coming from brain dead people? :-P And, if you are posting at additional social
sites, I would like to follow you. Could you make a list the complete urls of all your public pages like your
linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?
