Old School Friday - If My Mama Only Knew

Thank God it's Friday! This was a difficult theme because in my day there was not a lot of music around that we had to snatch off the turntable when our mothers walked in the room. This is a stretch, but I went with Marvin Gaye's You Sure Love to Ball. I cannot wait to roam the blogsphere and see what others have to offer :-P

This meme was developed by Marvalus View and Ms. Grapevine. The rules are simple:

1. Anyone can participate; any music genre
2. Old School is defined as music created before 1999
3. No offensive words allowed, please use edited radio version
4. Post a video of your favorite Old School song to take us back down memory lane
5. Add your name to the meme list so that others can check you out
6. Have fun & don't forget to leave comments for other participants

uh oh. I'm glad you didn't get caught. I know that you didn't because you are still around.

You're so right - in our day music was quite a bit less "blue" than today's - BUT remember the uproar over Elvis and his Pelvis? And my Mom thought The Beatles were "hoodlums who needed haircuts", lol.

Ah, the innocence of our youth, eh?

My post is really outside the box this week - no soundtrack at all but "if my Mama only knew" what I've been up to this week!

I'm sorry, I guess I haven't had enough coffee yet! I left the wrong link - the one in the previous post was to my Thursday Thirteen (ways to kill a Wild Peep).

My OSF is 13 Ways to Murder a Wild Peep - Caught in the act! a live video shot with someone's cell phone of my dastardly deeds! I've added a little soundtrack on the side for the music!

Happy OSF, Pjazzy and sorry for the mix-up - the Wild Peep problem has me a little crazy this week!

Happy OSF! I almost went with 'Sexual Healing' from Marvin Gaye. Actually, I don't remember this cut from him. Thank you for sharing it!

I'm certain that I would never want my mama to hear, see or associate 2 Live Crew with her saintly son!

peace, Villager

Great pick! Brought back memories for sure. Basement party at my uncle's. Black light velvet poster of the generous-chested woman with the huge afro. Ohio Players album covers on the wall. Wood paneling. Budweiser neon light on the bar. And this song playing on the stereo. Him screaming down the stairs "Y'all kids bedda not be scratching my albums!"

LOL!

Happy OSF!

does anyone think porn is the only business still thriving during the credit cruch? I think many folks seek refuge in buying and wanking porn during the crunch
