This blog is named after a book by Jacqueline Jones Royster. While my goals for this blog are not quite as lofty as Ms. Royster's (promoting literacy and social change) I do intend to address ideas, philosophies, and policies that need to change. Since I consider myself a sociologist I will focus on anything social, which basically covers everything under the sun and then some. Topics will include my take on politics, music, sports, family issues, literature, to name a few.

Yes, I think there probably is a bit of jealousy there. IMHO, Rev. Jackson needs to keep paying his child support and stop worrying about other mens' privates.
Hopefully, the day of the Bill C. and Jesse J. type of man/politician/rogue is about to come to an end. Hallelujah!
Yes, I feel that Spike's comments are on the money. To paraphrase what Ice Cube's character said to Cedric the Entertainer's in one of the Barbershop movies, "I think Jesse's got a little hateration in his game".
To be honest, I don't really know what to think about this entire episode, other than the fact that someone else has referred to some violent act when mentioning Obama. Otherwise, I actually agree with Jackson's criticism of him, even though the threat--tongue in cheek as it obviously was--didn't help his cause, whatever that is.
Lori; Funny you should mention the outside child. I had almost forgotten all about that. You are right about the day of the womanizing politicians coming to end. They investigated Barack all the way back to kindergarten and found none of the type of behavior you eluded to.
Malcolm; You and me are on the same page regarding ole J. J. I think it is sinking in...he'll never be a Steppin Fetchit (lol)
X.; Jackson wasn't being literally, I think we can all agree on that. He just needs to be mindful of what he says, whether he thinks he is being recorded or not.
