Update: Out of Darkness will be showing on TV ONE, February 18th at 12:00 AM CST.
This blog is named after a book by Jacqueline Jones Royster. While my goals for this blog are not quite as lofty as Ms. Royster's (promoting literacy and social change) I do intend to address ideas, philosophies, and policies that need to change. Since I consider myself a sociologist I will focus on anything social, which basically covers everything under the sun and then some. Topics will include my take on politics, music, sports, family issues, literature, to name a few.

That clip was pretty painful to watch. You're right. That' is good acting.
Well, maybe Perry can coax her out of retirement.
This is the first time that I have seen this particular clip. It is definitely intense.
It would be good to Diana on screen again. Maybe Tyler will be able to work something out between them.
Wow...I was riveted to this clip...I don't think I've ever seen this movie...time to add it to my Netflix queue.
The thing with Diana is that she was so willing to go beneath the layers and bare her soul...that is why she was such a good actress. She knew that her stage persona was just that, but being an actress was different and required more than her name and hair...
That would be interesting.
X., It is painful because it is so real. She's not really retired, I saw her in concert last year.
Ms Lady Deborah, I would love for her to come out and do something with Tracey, Rhonda, and Evan. That would be awesome.
Marvalus, She definitely put it all out there. It was a great movie.
I caught some of "Double Platinum" not too long ago. Hopefully I can catch it in its entirety. It would be a coup and kinda cool if Tyler Perry can get Diana back on the big screen. Every time I think of "Lady Sings the Blues" I hear the line by Scatman Crothers' character, "I'm Big Ben baby!"
Hey Malcolm, I always remember the quote from the same scene when Billie says, "honey I done quit".
Certainly, it is his tireless persistence that has landed him where he is at today.
yes that would be a great catch if Tyler can lure Diana into this flick she has drawing power I mean people that dont go to movies will go see her.
You'd think someone like Tyler would be able to finaggle someone like Ms. Ross quite easily with a little mutual respect. All he has to do is write a little something and put it out to his mailing list that describes his admiration of her talent and the larger perpective of the importance to his project and posterity.
Or perhaps he should work on Michael.
