The singing, songwriting team of Ashford and Simpson have taken their early 1980's hit "Solid As A Rock" , reworked it and renamed it "Solid As Barack". A tribute to President Barack Obama, the catchy ode was released digitally on Jan. 20 – the same historic day he was inaugurated as the first African American President of the United States of America. This new version, complete with expanded lyrics for the entire song, is a reverential tribute to Obama.The hit-making husband and wife team premiered the song on 'Larry King Live' during the inauguration weekend. That's where it was revealed that the demand for the remix has been overwhelming since a recent airing of a version of the song on 'Saturday Night Live,' which was performed by the comedic cast of the series.

That was an execellent choice of song to represent Mr.President Obama & Mrs. First lady Obama b/c I think they have a solid relationship(they could never fake that good )and are going to be all about business yet stay grounded and solid as a rock in their personal lives which is already being challenged w/ the dolls issue, I like the direction and choices on which he is dealing with and the determination he uses to get his colleagues to respond.I am just so intuned to what hes doing I hope I don`t become a stalker(LOL just joking)But I have never paid as close attention to politics as I have since Mr. President Obama(thats how people need to address him b/c he`s earned the title)Just like when Mr.Tiger Woods hit the golf circuit I watch more golf than I ever thought I would ok I`m out like a scout holla back!!! The song is a nice tribute to Pres. Obama. However, because of the recent SNL skit, it has a bit of the cheese factor for me too.

Hey Uncle, I never followed politics this closely either, but I always voted. I felt if I did not vote then I had no right to complain. Plus to many people died so that we could have this right. It's true, I also watch more golf and more tennis because of the William sisters (smile).
